Pasar Malam, I miss you.

E: Hey, where did you get those flip-flops from?

N: Eh? These? Back home. From Malaysia.

E: Is it a local brand? Where did you get it from? A mall back home?

N: Errr. Yeah. From a mall. It's called Pasar Malam.

E: Hmmmm...funny name. Is it big?

N: It is pretty massive, some of it.

E: Some of it?

N: Yeah. I mean, it's a really huge corporation, this Pasar Malam. Way bigger than your network of Asdas and Sainbury's combined. We have Pasar Malams all across the nation. Every single state, city, town, village will have it. Some places have bigger ones that others, that's all.

E: Wow. Incredible. To think that a place like Malaysia will have a franchise that big! Malaysians buy lotsa slippers and shoes huh?

N: Huh? Nono! They don't just sell footwear man. They sell heaps of other things. Depends which branch you go to. Most will sell amongst many other things: fresh produce, fish vege meat you name it. Good food, cooked. Local food hot and cold, Japanese, western. Drinks. Ummm...fruits. Clothes. Cookware. Furniture sometimes. Ummm...the latest DVDs at amazing prices. Sometimes, really rare though, but sometimes, they stock...ummmm....really really cheap LVs, Guccis and Pradas. Everybody goes there. There's bound to be something for everybody. It's indiscriminate.

E: What?!?! Who owns it? He must be rich!

N: Nah. It's not a him.

E: A her?

N: It's....sorta owned by the public.

E: It's...public listed?

N: Ummm...sort of. Everybody owns it.

E: How much is each share worth then?

N: A heart big enough to love everybody, I guess?
